26-08-SUP: Motel 6 on W. Airport Freeway seeks a new permit after an ownership change
110 W. Airport Freeway, Euless · City Council hearing held Tue Oct 13
What's proposed
A new Specific Use Permit (Ordinance No. 2466) so the existing 89-room Motel 6 can keep operating under a new owner, AKHope Hospitality LLC. Euless requires a new SUP for a hotel in C-2 whenever the owner changes. The applicant says nothing changes: same building, parking (about 107 spaces), signs and 24-hour operation, with nightly and weekly room rates.
Staff recommendation
"Approval," with conditions: the SUP is tied to the name Motel 6 and to the owner AKHope Hospitality LLC; the hotel must be maintained and inspected under the city's Property Maintenance Code and building code; and the SUP may be revoked if any condition is broken.
Who it helps or hurts
No residential zoning is shown next to the site on the city's map, and the use already exists.
A continuing motel on the SH 183 frontage; no new building or traffic is proposed.
Within about 1,000 feet
Commercial frontage along Airport Freeway and N. Main Street (C-1, C-2, TX-10 zoning) with planned-development districts to the north along W. Fuller Drive and Byers Street.
Watch for
- Because the permit is tied to the owner, it is the city's chance to set conditions on property upkeep. Weekly-stay rates are offered; the conditions do not limit length of stay.
- The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval 6-0 on Sep 15, 2026. No one spoke at that hearing.
- Letters went to owners within 200 ft; staff reported zero responses.
